I Made It All By Myself!!!

I found this great blog by Ana White called KnockOffWood. Ana posts super easy plans on how to build your own furniture. Thanks to her terrific blog, I now have the sleek Tyde coffee table under my belt! If you ever have an inkling to DIY be sure to check out her website!

I started off by using the cut list provided with the plans from the KnockOffWood website and went to Home Depot for my wood. I handed the list to an employee and he helped me find all of my wood and cut it all to size for me. This was my first time ever going into a store searching for building materials and I've found that Home Depot employees are exceptionally courteous and helpful! Since they cut everything for me, I was able to fit all of my wood into the trunk of my car!

Below are the pictures I took of the entire process as I went.

Tah-dah! My very first piece of furniture made from scratch all by myself (with the help of Ana's plans and Home Depot's cutting of course.) The coffee table now proudly sits in my mom's living room. (Don't tell her but I think she might be getting the matching end tables for Mother's Day.)

  2. Mari,

Outstanding work Mari. That turned out wonderfully. You really did a great job. The finish looks great as well. Thank you for stopping by and linking it up. Now we just need to get you some tools and teach you how to cut those boards yourself.

You've got the knack for this run with it. I can't wait to see what else you do.
